Bakemonogatari Blu-ray Set Ive just finished the collection of Blu-ray for one of my favorite anime series. Bakemonogatari sure takes the anime world by suprise and ended up being a successfull Brand name. Due to that you see more and more Vampire such anime being released. Studio Shaft chose well and has gotten lots of praise from me.

Its already been a year that the series started and took me one whole year to collect the BD, couldnt help the fact that the last BD vol6 was delayed for a few months, but didnt matter, I am absorbed in the world of Bakemonogatari and will present you the goodness of the Blu-ray

Bakemonogatari Blu-ray Set First Blu-ray release from anime series “Bakemonogatari Hitagi Crab” based on hit light novel by Ishin Nishio. One day, a third year high school student Koyomi Araragi helps a girl named Hitagi Senjogahara falling down stairs. Because of this incident, he happens to know her uncanny secret and offers to pitch in on her behalf. Because he also has a big secret relateing to hers. . . Includes episodes 1 and 2. Also includes bonus CD with intro theme sung by Hitagi Senjogahara (voiced by Chiwa Saito), 12-page original booklet, and two pin-ups.

Bakemonogatari Blu-ray Set Second Blu-ray release from the anime series “Bakemonogatari Hitagi Crab” based on hit light novel by Ishin Nishio. Features episodes 3 through 5. Includes bonus CD with theme song of “Mayoi Maimai” and more. Also includes 12-page original booklet and three pin-ups. Bakemonogatari Blu-ray Set Third Blu-ray release from anime series “Bakemonogatari” featuring episodes 6 through 8. Also includes bonus CD featuring theme “ambivalent world” and more. Also includes 12-page original booklet and three pin-ups. Bakemonogatari Blu-ray Set Fourth Blu-ray release from anime series “Bakemonogatari” featruing episodes 9 and 10. Limited edition includes bonus CD with theme to “Nadeko Snake” and “Atogatari,” 12-page original booklet, and two illustration cards.

I watched the TV and BD versions side by side in sync to see what’s new. Turns out everything is new. For example ep 10 retains most of its original animation, but where the TV version was stuck with ten second long shots of empty backgrounds, the BD edition actually has properly animated characters moving around. This makes for a completely new experience, and I was surprised to find out I could be moved to feel such intensity in the concluding battle between Araragi and the snake, now that I could finally “see” it. Admittedly, they may have gone somewhat overboard on the Nadeko shots.Bakemonogatari Blu-ray Set Fifth Blu-ray release from anime series “Bakemonogatari” featruing episodes 11 through 13. Limited edition includes bonus CD with the main theme and original soundtrack of “Tsubasa Cat.” Also includes 12-page original booklet and three pinups.
Bakemonogatari Blu-ray Set Sixth Blu-ray release from anime series “Bakemonogatari” featruing episode 14 and 15. Limited edition includes bonus CD with the main theme and original soundtrack of “Tsubasa Cat.” Also includes 12-page original booklet and two pinups.

One reason might be that since the release of volume 6 was delayed so much, it allowed more time for people to pre-order and thus gain a better first week sale. Nevertheless, congratulations to the Bake production team! I wonder if we have to wait until Kizu for the record to be beat again :heh:
Bakemonogatari Blu-ray Set I recommend anyone who liked the show to rewatch on blu-ray, because it is that much better now. It gives that extra dimension, given the fact that the TV version wasnt at the full potential i think due to that the production was outsourced to another studio due to scheduling issues — but BD version is now a whole new beast. The animation has been remade from scratch, with nearly every single frame drawn in a new style. It runs off the same audio and storyboard, but it’s clear that there were different people holding the pen. Amusingly, I can’t really say if it was for the better, because the TV broadcast had more detail, but the new version is more in line with the rest of the series, I guess. Anyway This is my kingdom of heaven.
